In this video-based course, building industry leaders John Straube (from RDH Building Science) and Joe Lstiburek (from Building Science Corporation) provide customized training for teams participating in the DOE Race to Zero Student Design Competition. This course focuses on the building science needed to design net-zero and low-energy housing. To help students prepare their winning entries, John and Joe discuss housing design beyond energy and provide a better understanding of building science physics, building performance, and simulation.
The required videos for this course were recorded during two live training sessions in January 2015. The total time for the course is approximately 12 hours.
In addition to the videos contained in each lesson, students are encouraged to access the reading list for further study and review.
Key dates for the 2018 competition are listed here. For more information on competition requirements and timelines, visit the Race to Zero Competition Requirements page or contact firstname.lastname@example.org
